In the world of retail, they have five seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall and Holiday. Each season, no matter what store it is they all have season sales. At the end of the existing season and the beginning of the new season they will hold a sale, they want to sell the items that did not sell from the season before. So they will put on sale for a great price just so they can move the inventory.

This works out well for the consumer. If it was lawn furniture and it was so expensive during the spring and summer months but now that it is getting cold then can’t sell it at regular price so they sell it at a great discount. Those sales tactics work because if you could get it for cheaper when you can why would you wait until the right season to pay full price for it.

Then you have the holiday sales, no matter what holiday it is the entire inventory goes on sale so the store can sell it all to clear their inventory but just like the furniture we just wrote about, the same will be said of the holiday decorations they will put them out an outrageously low price and sell it the day after the holiday. You can’t go wrong with seasonal shopping, the items you want will always go on sale maybe not when you need it to but what is the difference, you will save a lot of money.
